Work Experience
2022: I worked at Fazenda as a KP for 4 weeks during August, Edinburgh.
I learned to deal with the stress of a hospitality job and inconsistent hours, as well as prioritising tasks to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen from my area, as I had many responsibilities, failing any one of which slowed everyone down.
2021: I carried out a 6-week internship at the Federal Research Centre for Virology and Microbiology, Vladimir Oblast, Russia.
I learned many new techniques and methods regarding protein isolation, protein tagging DNA analysis - including purification, cell cultivation and hands-on animal handling. I also translated/edited 3 papers being prepared for publication.
2019: I spent 3 weeks working at a Zara Warehouse, Northampton, UK.
I worked in a team to get the product from the shelves to the customer. It was a multilingual environment, meaning I had to communicate to people in both English and Russian.
2017-2018: I volunteered at a care home for around 18 months during my A-level studies at St. John's care home, Northampton, UK. I helped to provide care for the residents on a weekly basis and maintain their daily schedules. This helped the nurses to carry out the medical tasks they had to perform.

Additional Interests
Scientific writing - I wrote for a student-run blog called Universal Medicine' as part of a small team. I wrote about scientific and medicine-related innovations once a month.
Society president - I was the President of the Tea society at my university. I commanded a committee to set up weekly meetings and event collaborations with other societies. This taught me to manage my time so that I can organise this alongside studies.
Sports - I was part of the Men's 2[nd] team for fencing in my first year of university. I trained multiple times a week and participated in competitions. I have done ballet, basketball, gymnastics and karate - all for more than 4 years. This taught to me work with other people to achieve a common goal and value members' individual skills.
Instruments - I played violin in one of my school's orchestras and sang in one of our choirs. We performed many times in front of large audiences. Consequently, I learnt how to remain calm under pressure, and to stay focused on a project for an extended period of time.
Reading - I adore reading, and I combine this with my love of languages by reading Russian and German literature in the original.
