Job Description: Outbound Travel Agent

Reports to Director, Brand strategy and FC

Location: Male, Maldives

Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Outbound Travel Agent to join our team based in the Maldives. The primary responsibility of this role is to promote and sell tour packages to Maldivian travelers, facilitating their journeys to destinations such as the UAE, Russia, and other international locations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of travel industry trends, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Promotion: Develop and execute sales strategies to promote outbound travel packages to target destinations, with a focus on the UAE and other relevant markets.
2. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing personalized assistance and guidance throughout the travel booking process.
3. Product Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of travel products, including flights, accommodations, tours, and activities, to effectively advise and upsell to clients.
4. Destination Expertise: Stay updated on travel trends, visa requirements, cultural nuances, and attractions in target destinations to provide accurate and valuable information to clients.
5. Customization and Tailoring: Work closely with clients to understand their preferences, interests, and budgetary constraints, customizing travel itineraries to meet their specific needs.
6. Booking and Reservation Management: Handle booking inquiries, process reservations, and manage travel documentation efficiently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and other travel partners to negotiate competitive rates, secure exclusive deals, and enhance the overall travel experience for clients.
8. Marketing Support: Assist in the development of marketing materials, including brochures, website content, and social media posts, to promote outbound travel packages effectively.
9. Client Support: Provide ongoing support to clients before, during, and after their trips, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
10. Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of promotional activities and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Travel Agent or in a similar role, preferably with outbound travel sales expertise.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with fluency in English; additional language proficiency is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of travel industry software and booking systems (Unihotel )
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for travel, cultural diversity, and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Familiarity with Maldivian travel regulations, visa procedures, and international travel requirements.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as required, especially during peak travel seasons.
